Sunday Cat of the Week: Cinder (ADOPTED!)

A loving home would make Cinder purr.
Cinder is a senior looking for a place to call home. This gorgeous 12-year-old cat arrived at the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield, MA on December 4th as an owner surrender.

"She's stressed out, and not eating well," said the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society. "She was talkative and friendly when she first arrived, but she's starting to shut down. We all would like to see her happy again."

They want to get her in a home as soon as possible. Can you give Cinder some joy in her advanced years by providing a loving home?

  2. She seems very sweet and strikingly gorgeous! I love her eyes, they are very captivating. I bet she has some stories to tell. May she find a forever home soon to live out the rest of her years in comfort and love.

  4. Just breaks my heart ... I can't fathom how anyone could abandon a 12 year old cat. She deserves so much more than that and I hope she can find a home where she is truly loved.

  5. Thanks for sharing! Here is a quick video I took today: http://youtu.be/lkc6sDC6Bq0. Just to clarify, she was an owner surrender, meaning that her previous family could no longer keep her. She has been living in her kennel—meaning her cage at the humane society—since she came in. We tried her in the cat colony room, but she wasn't happy sharing such a small space with a bunch of other cats. She'd probably be happiest in a home without other animals, or in a larger home where she could have her own space.

  6. Cinder is so beautiful. We are so sad she is not doing well ... so unfair that she would be abandoned as a senior. Big purrs and prayers that she'll find a loving forever home real soon.

  7. I've Siamese all my life and for one to lose their home at that age, under those conditions is unthinkable. Our 17-year-old looks like her. I will share but how else can I help?
