Rescue Cat Saves Owner from Burning House (VIDEO)

Sally the cat is a hero. The tabby cat saved the life of her owner, Craig Jeeves, when his house burst into flames in the middle of the night. The house was completely destroyed.

"She was standing on my head screaming, the loudest scream I've ever heard from a cat screaming at me and then I smelt the smoke and jumped out of bed," Jeeves said as reported by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

The Melbourne Australian man adopted the cat several years ago from an animal shelter. By saving his life, Jeeves told the IB Times UK, she had returned the favor.

2 paws up, Sally!

Blind Rescue Kitten Shows Teammate How to Play Soccer Like a Pro (VIDEO)

Amelie & Stevie.  Source: Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition
When you watch the energetic kitten Amelie at play, you would never guess she is blind. (See video, below.) She hones in on the crinkle ball with the precision of a laser beam. She bops the ball, then dribbles it across the floor like a professional soccer player. Her best friend and teammate, Stevie, watches her slick moves from the sidelines. According to the Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition, "Stevie is Amelie's seeing eye cat." The two rescue cats, Amelie and Stevie, were raised together and are always playing and cuddling together.

AMELIE PLAYS SOCCER

Amelie had such a bad eye infection when she was little that her eyes were removed. The blind kitten's sweet BFF cleaned her eyes for her after the procedure. The two kittens came from ACC when they were 4 weeks old. They are looking for their forever home and must be adopted as a pair.

Interested in Adopting?
Amelie and Stevie are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped. Amelie will require no further follow-up regarding her prior surgery.
If you are interested in adopting these sporty kitties, Please email BrooklynBridgeAnimals@yahoo.com to arrange a play date in their Brooklyn Heights foster home.

AMELIE & STEVIE ARE ALWAYS TOGETHER

Kitten Thrown From Car Gets Help From Good Samaritans (PART 1)

Jade the kitten is a survivor.
Jade is a miracle kitty. The 5-month-old black kitten survived being thrown from a car on busy Route 7 in Tyson's Corner, Virginia. She was rescued by two sisters who saw her in the middle of the road. The kitten has a broken pelvic bone and may need surgery.

The sisters who rescued her started a Help Save Jade page on Facebook to raise funds and to find her a surgeon. This Monday, Jade has an x-ray appointment to learn more about the current position of the broken pelvic bone. Depending on the results, the surgery might be put off until she is a little older.

Thanks to Jade's Facebook followers, her rescuers may also have found a vet willing to do the procedure.

If you would like to make a donation, you can go to Jade's Chip-in page. As of this posting $800 has been raised from compassionate people who were all touched by the spunky little kitten.

Watch these videos of Jade. She'll steal your heart.

Sleepy Jade...

Purrs to Jade and her rescuers who saved her life.

Rescue Cat and Bobcat Meet Cute. (VIDEO)

Pima, a rescue kitty, is not afraid of a bobcat. When the bobcat appears outside her window in Cave Creek, AZ, she bravely introduces herself. And rather than reacting aggressively toward the house cat, the bobcat seems almost playful.

Pima's owner, Bucky Marshall, was hoping to get a shot of the big cat with his camera, but instead captured a sweet moment between the two.

As reported by abc15.com, Pima and her sister, Mogey, had a rough beginning. They were born in a dumpster in Colorado and Marshall adopted them.

Sunday Cat of the Week: Mushu

Mushu is a Personal Assistant
My name is Mushu! I am a 6-year-old brown male tabby who lives at the Nebraska Humane Society. I was living on the streets, but sadly my human never claimed me. I'd love to go home with you and sit on your comfy lap!

The rescue has a clever way of matching the purrsonalities of me and my furr-ends--from Executive to Private Detective--with our potential staff. It's called Meet Your Match Adopter Survey. We've all been assessed and I'm a Personal Assistant!

You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop in your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me.

Every home needs a Personal Assistant, don't you think? What else do you need to know? Well I've been neuter...but that's a little personal. Let's talk more about you and me.

Sunday Cat of the Week: Cinder (ADOPTED!)

A loving home would make Cinder purr.
Cinder is a senior looking for a place to call home. This gorgeous 12-year-old cat arrived at the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society in Springfield, MA on December 4th as an owner surrender.

"She's stressed out, and not eating well," said the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society. "She was talkative and friendly when she first arrived, but she's starting to shut down. We all would like to see her happy again."

They want to get her in a home as soon as possible. Can you give Cinder some joy in her advanced years by providing a loving home?

See more photos of Cinder here.

Sunday Cat of the Week: Rainey

Rainey is looking for her forever home.
This sweet gray and white kitten was found alone in the rain and so she was named Rainey.

Rainey is an intelligent, talkative kitty who will enjoy hanging out with you. She is now living in foster care with four siblings (Fortunato, Lenore, Roderick and Rowena). Her foster family has four cats, two large female dogs, and two daughters (ages 8 and 10). Rainey enjoys being around other cats as well as dogs and people, but she is also independent and like to do things by herself.

Rainey has a chirpy meow!
One of the cutest things about her is her voice: She has a happy, chirpy meow that sort of sounds like the noise a bird would make. If you chirp back at her, she will perk up and have a conversation with you!

If you are interested in adopting the adorable Rainey contact: Almost Home Adoptions for Rescued Cats, 6010 West 88th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80031 (Harlan and 88th) Phone: 303-432-2299

This Cat is a Real Escort

Like clockwork, Graeme the cat meets his owner's commuter train at the Melbourne, AU station every night. He then escorts her home.

And every morning the loyal 12-year-old rescue cat accompanies his owner, Nicole Weinrich, to the train. Graeme picks her up on the opposite side of the tracks in the evening.

The handsome cat is well-known among the train travelers and has his fans. He even has his own Facebook page, Graeme Riley, Ace of Cats.

As reported by the Herald Sun, Weinrich said, the feline "had roughed it on the street before being saved from the RSPCA's "death row" six years ago, so his love of people is tempered by his survival instincts."

Cat Celebrates Cinco de Mayo and His Rescue

A year ago there was a good chance that Charlie the cat was going to be euthanized. However, he was fortunate. He found his forever home.

Here is Charlie playing a fun game of piƱata to celebrate both the one-year anniversary of his rescue and Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican heritage holiday.

Happy Anniversary Charlie!
